Buying on FarmCart
How do I buy produce on FarmCart?
Browse the market, open a listing that suits you and select “Request this produce”. FarmCart opens the secure app where you can sign in or create an account, enter the quantity you need and choose pickup or discuss delivery. The seller receives your request and can respond there.
Do I need an account before I can browse?
No. You can browse listings, compare prices and filter produce without an account. You need a FarmCart account when you are ready to send a request to a seller.
How do I find produce near me?
Use the state selector in the header or the location filter in the market. You can also narrow results by category, produce type and price. If no listing matches your state, adjust the filters or browse all Nigeria listings.
Can I filter by produce type or category?
Yes. The market sidebar lets you filter by category, produce type, state, price range and verified sellers. Category pages keep these filters available too.
What does “verified seller” mean?
A verified badge indicates that the seller has completed the applicable FarmCart verification steps. It is a helpful signal when comparing listings, but buyers should still review the listing details and agree order terms directly with the seller.
How do I request a specific quantity?
Open the produce listing, select “Request this produce”, then enter the quantity you want in the FarmCart app. The request is sent to the seller for confirmation.
Can I choose delivery or pickup?
Yes. When you make a request, choose pickup or “discuss delivery”. The seller’s listing may also state which options they can support. Confirm the final handover arrangement directly with the seller.
Does FarmCart process payments?
FarmCart currently helps buyers and sellers discover produce and send trade requests. Payment, delivery charges and the final handover arrangement are agreed directly by the buyer and seller before payment is made.
What happens after a seller accepts my request?
The seller can confirm availability from their workspace. Use the agreed contact channel to confirm quantity, price, pickup or delivery arrangements, and any other order terms before proceeding.

Selling on FarmCart
Who can sell on FarmCart?
Farmers, produce sellers and agricultural businesses that can provide accurate listing details can begin the seller onboarding process. Each public listing is reviewed before it appears in the market.
How do I start selling?
Select “Start selling”, then create or sign in to your FarmCart account. Verify your email, complete onboarding, choose the Sell tab, save a seller profile, then select “Add listing”.
What information do I need for a seller profile?
You will provide your farm or shop name, seller type, a short introduction and your preferred contact channel. Your public location uses the state and local area saved in your account.
What do I need to add a produce listing?
Prepare the produce name, category, produce type, unit, available quantity, minimum order, price, description, availability date, handover terms and at least one clear JPG or PNG photo. You can upload up to five photos.
Why is my exact farm address not shown publicly?
FarmCart shows the listing’s local area and state to help buyers search nearby produce. Your exact farm or pickup address remains private while the listing is public.
When will my listing appear in the market?
New listings are submitted for review. They appear publicly only after approval, so allow time for FarmCart to review the information and images you supplied.
Can I offer pickup or delivery?
Yes. When creating a listing, you can state whether pickup is available and whether delivery can be discussed. Be clear in your handover terms so buyers know what to expect.
How do I respond to a buyer request?
Open the Sell tab in the FarmCart app. Requests to your store appear there, where you can accept or decline an awaiting request. If you accept, confirm the remaining trade details with the buyer.
How can I make my listing more useful to buyers?
Use recent, clear photos; name the produce precisely; state the unit and available quantity; set a realistic price; and explain freshness, grade, pack size, pickup or delivery options and when the produce is available.

How should buyers and sellers agree on an order?
Confirm the produce, quantity, unit price, total amount, pickup or delivery plan, handover date and any delivery charge before payment or collection. Keep the conversation focused on the listing and agree changes clearly.
What should I check before paying for produce?
Review the listing, confirm the seller’s availability and final price, agree how the produce will be inspected or handed over, and make sure you understand the delivery or pickup arrangement. Do not feel pressured to proceed before the details are clear.
What if a listing is no longer available?
Availability can change quickly with fresh produce. The seller can decline the request if the produce is no longer available. Browse similar listings or adjust your filters to find another option.
